Claudia Schiffer and Matthew Vaughn have baby No 3

MODEL Claudia Schiffer and her British film director and producer husband Matthew Vaughn have announced the birth of their third child.

The couple did not say what they plan to name their second daughter, who was born at London's Portland Hospital on Friday.

The German supermodel and Vaughn, who recently directed the action film Kick-Ass, already have a son, Caspar, seven, and a daughter, Clementine, five.

A statement from the couple said: "Claudia Schiffer and Matthew Vaughn are proud to announce the birth of their baby daughter who was born on Friday, 14 May, in the early afternoon. "Mother and baby are doing well."

Schiffer and Vaughn, who produced 1998's Guy Ritchie-directed Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, met at a dinner party in Los Angeles.

After a 16-month relationship, they

tied the knot on 25 May 2002 near their family home in Suffolk.

In the early 1990s Schiffer starred in highly publicised Guess? jeans adverts in North America, helping to raise her profile worldwide. After appearing in the campaigns she was immediate hot property, appearing on five magazine covers in the United States and seven covers around Europe.

Forbes magazine once put her net worth at around 38 million.
