Interview: Marlies Dekkers, Dutch lingerie designer

What's the last piece of clothing you bought? Black Christian Louboutin boots. I can't get enough of high heels. You'll never catch me in anything else.

Best ever bargain? Fabulous Miu Miu shoes from the summer 2009 collection, which I bagged in the sales.

Who has great style? Lady Gaga was the fashion queen of 2009. I find her look very provocative but always strong and sophisticated. I also admire Fergie (lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas), who always has a feminine, innovative look.

Name your favourite high street shop. H&M and Topshop. They have runway looks available in their stores immediately after every fashion week. I especially like H&M's designer collaborations – a great way of getting your collections to a big audience.

What are you addicted to buying?

High heels and handbags.

Any fashion disasters you'd care to tell us about? I can remember a video interview I did for KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) in New York. When I was walking on Fifth Avenue, with the whole film crew around me, I suddenly broke my stiletto heel. Luckily we found a shoemaker on the way.

What's your favourite item in your wardrobe? My bras, of course. When I dress I select the lingerie first, then choose a matching outfit.

The Marlies Dekkers range of lingerie is available at Bravissimo stores (www.bravissimo.com, www.marliesdekkers.nl)
