Chris Hoy wheels away £130,000 in company dividends
The cyclist, who snatched a gold medal in the keirin at this weekend’s World Track Cycling Championships in Melbourne with an audacious last-minute overtaking move, received the dividend from his company, Trackstars.
However, his payment dropped sharply from 2010, when he received £440,000 in dividends.

Hide AdHoy has taken out more than £1 million in dividends from the company in the past three years. He set up Trackstars in 2005, a year after winning gold at the Athens Olympics, but it is only since his triple gold medal-winning performance at the Beijing Games in 2008 that the company has taken off financially. As well as the dividends, Trackstars now has £556,247 in shareholders’ funds.
Hoy, who is set to compete in the London Olympics this summer, has been the face of advertising campaigns for Gillette and Kellogg’s Bran Flakes.
