Jonathan Russell named Herald editor
NEWSPAPER publisher the Herald & Times Group yesterday announced the appointment of a new editor-in-chief of its news operations.
Jonathan Russell will take up the post in the summer and will also be editor of the Herald.
The Glasgow-based group publishes the Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times newspapers, and is a partner in the Scottish News Consortium, which won the government contract for STV's Scottish news and a pioneering TV-to-internet news service. The consortium also includes Johnston Press, publisher of The Scotsman.
Russell is currently assistant editor of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail.
