Wood Group makes first move into UK refining market
The Aberdeen-based group has struck a five-year agreement to provide services to Valero Energy’s Pembroke refinery in south-west Wales.
Under the deal, which has the option for a one-year extension, Wood Group Industrial Services (WGIS) will deliver surface preparation and protective coatings for the plant, which was acquired by US fuels maker Valero from rival Chevron in 2011 and has the capacity to handle 270,000 barrels a day, including 220,000 barrels of crude oil.
