A WOMAN pedestrian has been killed after a collision with a car in a city centre early this morning.
The incident happened on Aberdeen's King Street at about 2.15am.
Grampian Police say the woman, who has not been named, died at the scene.

The driver of the motor car was uninjured.

Inspector Scott Mann of the Grampian Police Roads Policing Unit said today:

"Our inquiries are at a very early stage.

"We cannot provide any further details at this time regarding the female involved although my thoughts are with her family at this sad time.

"I'd like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident and who hasn't yet spoken to the Police to contact us as soon as possible."

Collision Investigation Officers spent four hours at the scene.

The road was closed between West North Street and Mealmarket Street during this period, although it has now re-opened.

A report on the incident will be submitted to the local procurator fiscals office.
