Hide AdFundraising events were organised and a Facebook page was set up in his memory with more than 1,100 people signing up. It was thought that up to 15,000 would have to be raised to repatriate the body amid concerns James' basic travel insurance may not have covered quad-biking, potentially leaving his family with the bill.
His funeral will be held on 7 July at 2:15pm at Carrick Knowe Parish Church with burial at Saughton Cemetery.
