Police caught up with 40-year-old Sim later that day after Farrell reported him and the incident was viewed on CCTV cameras.

The court heard how Sim, of Polton Vale, Loanhead, had noticed another van tailgating him on the City Bypass on September 5 last year. Nearing his work on Bankhead Road, he noticed the same van pull into a car park and decided to confront the driver.
Murray Robertson, defending Sim, said: "My client . . . moved his van right up to him so he could talk to him and insists he had no intention of driving at him."
