Champagne and chocolates for new bar's staff

A TRAINING course with a difference is being offered to staff at a new bar in the Capital.

Hyde Out, which will open at Edinburgh Quay in Fountainbridge next month, is pledging to give its employees tasting sessions of champagne, wine and chocolate.

Training will include visits to artisan chocolatier Iain Burnett for truffle sampling, along with a tour of the brewery which supplies kegs to the bar, and cocktail-making lessons.

Bar manager Rowan Milne said: "As well as tasting our drinks and food, staff will visit the source of the products and get extensive knowledge from the people who make them."

Around 20 people, mostly bartenders, will be employed at the bar.

The canalside site was previously Embark bar and restaurant. It is due to reopen in mid-October following a renovation.
