Glasgow police increase patrols after murder of Omar Sadiq

Detectives launched a major murder investigation three days later on Friday September 18, after the result of a post-mortem examination.
Det Insp Brian Gribbons, leading the probe, urged anyone with information to come forward to speak to officers.
"We are following a positive line of inquiry,” he said on Friday, “however we would still appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to contact us.
"We believe this was a targeted attack and there was no wider risk to the public."
Patrols in the area have also been beefed-up to help “engage with communities,” Police Scotland said.
Chief Inspectors Shaheen Baber, Area Commander for South West Glasgow, said: “Detectives are continuing to follow as positive line of inquiry into the murder of 32-year-old Omar Sadiq, which took place in Boydstone Road on Tuesday, 15 September.
“Additional uniformed patrols are continuing in relevant local areas of the south side of the city, with officers engaging with communities and providing reassurance.
