Constable Sean Kennedy, from the robbery unit, said: "I am appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area around the time of the incident to contact us.
"Someone may have seen the two suspects and thought nothing of them but given that a man has been threatened what you saw could be vital.
"I would urge anyone with any information to get in touch."
The suspects are white, aged between 16 and 20 and around 5ft 10in.
They were wearing dark clothes and had local accents.
