Hotels have fairway to go for Monty charity

STAFF from two Capital hotels have set off to walk "2 ways in 8 days" to raise money for the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, a charity set up by golfer Colin Montgomerie in memory of his late mother.

The staff, from the Hotel du Vin and Malmaison, are walking both the Great Glen Way and West Highland Way to raise funds.

The foundation is Hotel du Vin and Malmaison Group's official charity in Scotland and the hotel group aims to double the amount raised to date, taking the total to 200,000.

The walkers will spend eight days walking the 73 miles of the Great Glen Way, from Inverness to Fort William, followed by the 93-mile West Highland Way from Fort William. The team will finish the challenge in Milngavie on Friday.

Colin Montgomerie was unable to join the walkers as they set off because of a recent car crash, but sent his best wishes.
