Last chance to see chessmen

RESIDENTS are being reminded that they only have a few more days to see the The Lewis Chessmen: Unmasked exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland before it closes.

People have until Sunday to catch the exhibition, which has already seen more than 62,000 visitors take the opportunity to see the iconic figures up close.

Featuring chessmen drawn from National Museums Scotland and the British Museum, the exhibition looks at the mystery surrounding them, the stories of their discovery and shows how the characters reflected society at the time they were made.
