Musselburgh OAP charged over child snatch attempt
A PENSIONER has been charged in connection with an alleged attempt to abduct a child in a supermarket car park near Edinburgh.
The 72-year-old man was arrested after the incident outside Tesco Extra in Musselburgh, Police Scotland said.
The man, driving a red car, reportedly spoke to a 10-year-old girl before taking hold of her at about 12.40pm yesterday.

Hide AdHe drove off after a member of the public intervened, police said.
The man is expected to appear at Haddington Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective chief inspector Kenny Gray said: “Thankfully the child was not harmed during the incident.”
Police appealed for witnesses to come forward.
