New centre's big business

A NEW business centre has been opened in Oxgangs by housing association Dunedin Canmore.

The Oxgangs Community Business Space was opened by Councillor Tom Buchanan, and is part of Dunedin Canmore's ongoing work to regenerate the area.

Councillor Buchanan said: "I am absolutely delighted with the holistic approach Dunedin Canmore has taken in order to bring areas of housing, employability and business together."

The project is funded in partnership with the city council and is part of a ten-year, 30 million programme which began in 2005.

Ewan Fraser, chief executive of Dunedin Canmore said: "The Oxgangs partnership is an excellent example of successful collaboration between private, public and voluntary sectors responding to locally based demand to rebuild a better, sustainable community."
