Risky gamble
For a country to be truly
independent, it has to have its own currency, and Ron Rankin (Letters, 13 May) is correct to point out the disadvantages of choosing the perilous US dollar.
Unless this position is clear on the day, any question containing the word “independent” would be wrong because the referendum would not be about independence at all, but about a voyage of chance on a sea of uncertainty, in a boat without an engine.
