Teacher abuse
I WOULDN’T work as a teacher these days – not for any money. Your report, that teaching union leaders say most of the time nothing can be done to tackle pupils who use the internet and mobile phones to abuse teachers (2 January), is horrifying.
I regularly hear shocking stories from teacher friends about verbal abuse on top of general unruliness and a lack of respect, and I honestly don’t know how anyone is expected to work in those sort of conditions. They deserve better than this.
