“She is a lovely lady, very knowledgeable about and interested in antiques and has a “very good eye” as we say in the trade."
Ms Meldrum added: “We had a great chat and I was very touched by her understanding of the difficulties faced by businesses in the current situation. I got the impression she liked to visit small independent businesses and I think she enjoyed that aspect of Queensferry.”
A Castle For Christmas, starring the former Calvin Klein model, is directed by Mary Lambert and Shields star’s opposite British actor, Cary Elwes, known for his roles in The Princess Bride and Ella Enchanted.
Filming for the big-budget movie started on Monday and will see the cast travel all over Scotland. Scenes are set to be shot in the four-star Drimsynie Estate Holiday Village and, “a Scottish castle near Stirlingshire”, the exact location of which is yet to be disclosed to cast and crew.
The plot revolves around Shields’ character, Sophie, a celebrated American author who decides to buy a castle during a visit to Scotland. However, her plan is put in jeopardy when Myles, the prickly duke and castle owner played by Elwes, is reluctant to sell to a foreigner.
