Sick Kids staff up for prizes
FIFTEEN health workers from the Lothians have been nominated for national awards.
Among those making it to the final stages of the Scottish Health Awards is Sick Kids nurse Rebecca White, thanks to a moving letter from an 11-year-old who she looked after.
He wrote: "She made me laugh and would always come and check on me. Rebecca was the one who persuaded me to take a walk, have a bath, sit up or take less pain relief.
"I'm back at home now and I would tell other kids not to be nervous about going into hospital because they have the loveliest people like Rebecca to make you better again."
