Scots on road to nowhere Scots

MOTOrisTS in Scotland believe the roads they drive on are worse than anywhere else in the UK, according to a survey by the Automobile Association.

The finding comes as transport minister Keith Brown is expected to agree to a call from public spending watchdogs for a nationwide review of Scottish road maintenance.

The AA survey showed 79 per cent of members north of the Border thought roads had considerably deteriorated over the past three years, compared with 57 per cent across the UK.

Mr Brown is expected to announce on Friday the review which was recommended by Audit Scotland last week.
