Taxi driver found injured in lay-by

A TAXI driver was found with head injuries next to his cab in a lay-by. The 52-year-old, who police believe was assaulted, was discovered lying on the ground at around 7am yesterday.

He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. He was found in a lay-by off the A68 about half a mile south of Pathhead in Midlothian.
