Trial of teen behind elevator injury delayed
Nicola Scougal, 18, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday to stand trial on a culpable and reckless conduct charge.
Prosecution lawyers allege that Scougal, of Hopefield Terrace, Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, culpably and recklessly pushed the emergency stop button on an escalator at Waverley Bridge on December 10, 2009.

Mrs Roberts, of Dunfermline, Fife, allegedly suffered two broken wrists and needed emergency surgery after the incident which was captured on CCTV cameras at the train station. Earlier this month, Scougal pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The trial was postponed because prosecutors did not have a DVD copy of the CCTV footage which showed the alleged incident taking place. It will now take place on December 3.
