Departmental cuts total £5.5bn
THE UK government made savings of £5.5 billion from departmental spending over
the past year.
Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude said the coalition was “determined to go even further” in its aim to “cut the cost of government”. He said the savings were equivalent to about £500 for each working household in Britain.
