World Cup winner's medal under hammer

THE former Manchester United and England footballer Nobby Stiles is to sell his 1966 World Cup winner's medal at an auction in Edinburgh.

The 68-year-old is putting memorabilia from his career up for sale so his family can benefit from the auction, which is expected to bring in hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The 45 lots are due to go on sale at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on October 27, with the collection on view from two days earlier.
