Iraqi elections chief denies charges
Iraq’s electoral chief and a colleague were released on bail yesterday after three days in jail on corruption charges.
Faraj al-Haidari, head of Iraq’s electoral commission, and Karim al-Tamimi were arrested on charges they had given illicit bonuses to some employees, charges they have denied.
