Oktoberfest is a mugs’ game
A MUNICH consumer watchdog group has said Oktoberfest revellers are being ripped off at the famous Bavarian beer festival.
In a test of 100 standard “Mass” mugs conducted by the Association Against Fraudulent Pouring, not one was full.
In test conducted across a dozen Oktoberfest tents on Tuesday, one litre mugs ranged from being filled with 730 millilitres of beer from one vendor to a 940 millilitres at another.
Last year’s visitors consumed 7.1 million litre mugs of beer. This year a Mass costs an average €9.20 (£8).
