Pupils dedicated to community
THE Parent Partnership of Kirkcaldy High School wish to object to the article 'PM's alma mater at sharp end of war on knives' (May 18).
Articles like this demoralise hardworking and conscientious pupils and undermine the excellent work done by dedicated members of staff.
The anti-knife campaign was not centred around or initiated by Kirkcaldy High School, but was part of a Fife-wide campaign to highlight the dangers of knives following incidents throughout Fife. Pupils taking part in a competition of this nature reflect their dedication and commitment to take responsibility in becoming responsible citizens and show their caring for their community and love for their country.
Carol Murray, chairperson of Kirkcaldy High School Partnership, Kirkcaldy
