Edu rueful as Rangers are unable to kill off Valencia

"It's football - would have, could have, should have," said the midfielder. "I definitely think we created enough chances, dangerous chances, and on another day maybe we would have scored some of those chances and come out with three points. But it wasn't meant to be and we take one point from the game. "It all happened last night and it was just one of those things. I was very pleased to get the goal and there was a lot of disappointment in giving them that goal so early in the second half. "I thought we finished off the first half very strongly and created a lot of good chances and to start the second half like that was a disappointment. "In saying that, credit to our team because I thought we bounced back and we did well to keep attacking. We created some more really good chances in the second half that we were unlucky not to finish." Edu believes Rangers surprised a few people with their display. He said: "The whole team was really up for the game and we met every challenge that was put in front of us. I think a lot of people might have expected us to just sit in and absorb the pressure because Valencia are obviously a top side and they are doing well in the Spanish league right now. "You would expect them to possess the ball very well, and they did, but we did well to not just sit back and defend. When we had the ball, we tried to push on and attack and put the pressure on them to defend well." Rangers sit second in the section, behind Manchester United, and Edu has called for more of the same at the Mestalla at the beginning of next month after an impressive start to the campaign. He said: "You definitely have to have belief in yourself, otherwise there is no point even playing. The Manchester United game (a goalless draw at Old Trafford) definitely gave us confidence and the win against Bursaspor gave us more confidence and this game will do the same. "We put together a really good all-round effort and played attractive stuff at times and created some dangerous opportunities. The challenge for us now in the Champions League is to go there and do the same."
