Steven Gerrard has made seven changes to his Rangers team to take on Lech Poznan in Poland tonight. As well as Nathan Patterson making his first start there are spots on the bench for three other youngsters.

Jamie Barjonas, 21, midfielder

Leeds-born midfielder who has been with Ranger since 2008, making nine appearances so far. Has had loan spells at Bury, Raith Rovers, and Partick Thistle and has been capped for Scotland between Under-15 and Under-19 level.

Ostensibly a central midfielder but has been used as a number six as well as a No.10, at left midfield, and on the right wing.

Ciaran Dickson, 18, midfielder

Highly-rated central midfielder who only turned 18 in May. A Scotland Under-19 cap, he has already been included in a Europa League squad, taking a seat on the bench against Benfica last month. Was reportedly set to join Sheffield United on trial in September after being told he was surplus to requirements at Ibrox but featured off the bench in the Betfred Cup win against Falkirk.

Brian Kinnear, 19, goalkeeper

The 19-year-old shot-stopper has come up through the ranks at Rangers and spent time on loan at Camelon last season.

Named in the last Scotland Under-21 squad for matches against Croatia and Greece but yet to make his debut.

Nathan Patterson, 19, right-back

Understudy to captain and free-scoring full-back James Tavernier. Great things are expected of Patterson, who has made two substitute appearances so far this season against Kilmarnock in the league and Lincoln Red Imps during Europa League qualifying, and has featured in several matchday squads as an unused substitute.
