Golf: Liberton pull off League titles double
Prestonfield had been in pole position to claim the men’s title heading into the final round of matches with a one-point lead.
But they lost 4-0 at Duddingston, opening the door for Liberton to snatch the crown thanks to a 2-2 draw at Craigmillar Park.

Though Craigmillar Park finished at the bottom of the pile, the performance of David Walker and Scott Smith in the final match provided some encouragement for the future.
The two five-handicappers made home advantage count in beating Scott Finlay and Scottish Boy internationalist Anthony Blaney.
Completing the double, Liberton retained the junior title with an impressive five wins from their six matches.
The only loss for Robert Ross’s side, who won 2-1 at Craigmillar Park in their final outing, was at the hands of Duddingston in week two in late October.
The season draws to a conclusion with the individual and team championship at Prestonfield on March 11.
