A month after announcing that he was stepping down as the LPGA commissioner, Mike Whan has been named as the new CEO of the USGA.

Whan, who has been at the helm of the LPGA for 11 years, will take up the post this summer, replacing Mike Davis.

“Mike Whan is a proven, successful and transformative leader, not only in the golf industry but throughout his entire career,” said USGA President Stu Francis, who oversaw the CEO search process.
