The 33-year-old Texan took control of the event when he shot a six-under 64 on Saturday to move 14 under on the Old White TPC course, two clear of Jimmy Walker.
Sweden’s Jonas Blixt was two shots behind Walker on ten under, with Australian pair Matt Jones and Steven Bowditch, as well as American Jordan Spieth, on nine under as they waited to start their fourth round.

Hide AdNone of the players who had already started their rounds before storm clouds interrupted play had been able to make much impression at the top end of the leaderboard.
Just playing on the final day, let alone leading a tournament is a novelty for Wagner, who missed the cut at his previous seven events.
In his two previous tournaments, he had three birdies combined. He had seven on Saturday.
“I felt really comfortable all day,” Wagner said. “I hit a lot of good golf shots. I’ve got a really clear picture of what I’m trying to do on every swing.
“Sometimes when you’re playing bad, you forget who you are and you get down on yourself.
“The last couple of weeks, I’ve just trying to be positive and remember that I’ve won three times out here. I’m a little more comfortable with myself right now.”
