Purple patch lifts Sandy Gray
SANDY GRAY hit a purple patch, winning four holes in a row from the 12th in the second round of the title showdown, to beat John Fraser 4 and 3 in the final of the Royal Burgess club championship.
Also celebrating title triumphs in and around the Capital are Ewan Smith, who beat Malcolm Steven 6 and 4 in the final at Torphin Hill, and Colin Dick, who was only one up at the halfway stage before he went on to record a 5 and 4 success against Alastair Howie.
