Rugby: Donaldson wants Draycott to kick on after Scots call
Draycott, who was born in South Africa but has a Scottish father, played at Edinburgh Accies and Musselburgh before joining the Malleny Park club in the summer.
Although the 23-year-old was listed as injured ahead of last Saturday’s defeat against Gala, Scotland sevens coach Phil Greening has named him in a 12-man squad that flew out last night ahead of the Gold Coast tournament in Australia on October 13 and 14.

Hide AdDraycott is thrilled at his selection and desperate to make a mark. “I just want to get out there, get as much game time as I possibly can and make a winning contribution for Scotland”, he said.
While Donaldson would no doubt have wished to have Draycott available for his side’s trip to meet Stirling County on league duty this weekend, he is delighted that the player has now regained full fitness, saying, “It’s good to see him recovered from injury and hopefully his season can kick on from here.”
