Aberdeen '˜reject bid for Scott McKenna from Aston Villa'
The English Championship side, who bought John McGinn from Hibs earlier this summer, are understood to have proposed a loan deal, with a view to a permanent transfer in January.
A figure of between £6 million and £7 million is believed to have been offered for the 21-year-old, who has been capped four times for Scotland.

Celtic offered £3.5 million for McKenna earlier this month, with the Dons rejecting that approach as well.
Hull City and Swansea were also reported to be interested in the defender.
McInnes said this week: “McKenna’s market, for me, will be the English Premier League. We’re not in a position where we need to do a deal.
“We want him to be a big part for us this season and for me he’ll go to the English Premier League, and we’ll get the bigger ticket on the back of that.
“I’m very confident of that. It’s a matter of when and not if he goes there.”
