CELTIC goalkeeper Artur Boruc was under fire last night after waving a celebratory flag in front of Rangers fans to mark his team's capture of the Scottish Premier League title.
The controversial Pole angered opposition supporters by parading a banner with the word "Champions" written across it after Celtic's 2-0 defeat at Ibrox.
Strathclyde Police will discuss the incident with Celtic and the SPL.
Celtic manager Gor
don Strachan played down his goalkeeper's on-pitch antics and Boruc will not be charged by police. However, police are likely to urge players to keep in control of their emotions on such occasions.
A statement from Strathclyde Police last night said: "Strathclyde Police are aware of the Celtic goalkeeper's actions following the final whistle at the Rangers v Celtic game today.
"No criminal act has occurred however. This matter will be further addressed with Glasgow Celtic Football Club and the Scottish Premier League."
Boruc's actions sparked a fiery reaction from Rangers fans after the match.
It is the latest of several rows involving Boruc, who has had a series of run ins with opposing fans.
In December, he blessed himself in front of Rangers supporters during an Old Firm game.
Television footage showed the Polish internationalist making the sign of the cross as he walked towards his goal at the Copland Road end of Ibrox stadium before the start of the second half.
That followed a row earlier last year after it emerged that Boruc had been cautioned for making provocative gestures towards Rangers supporters during a match at Ibrox in February.
